A History of the Kingdom of 109

Back in the Day

Long, long ago, when Longfellow was still in its infancy, Mr. Huang was a prince in the Longfellow lands.  He was under to tutelage of Mr. Williams who lived in the harsh mountains of 211. Only the fearless could traverse the rocky climb to his abode, but many make the trek.  Just one hour a day with him could enlighten the mind in ways unimaginable.  In those days, kings and queens eventually sent their princes and princesses away for their more advanced training and education.  Mr. Huang was no exception.  Very few of those princes and princcesses returned to Longfellow. Instead, they opted to find riches in what is known as The Real World.

The Return

After facing many trials abroad, Mr. Huang chose to return to Longfellow in 2002.  However, by now, most of the Powers-That-Be and kings and queens had either been killed in battle, died naturally or left Longfellow.  Though he was of royal lineage, he was given no land of his own.  For a year, he lived as a nomad, traveling the trade routes between 210 and The Mod.  During that time, Mr. Huang survived with help from Mr. Williams, Ms, Pelosi, Mr. Fontz and Mrs. Postlethwait, a Longfellow princess herself.

The Landing

In 2003, the Powers-That-Be, led by Mr. Lynch, saw fit to finally give Mr. Huang a land of his own, known as 109.  On the backs of two turtles, Mr. Huang landed on the western beach near a mango tree.  Stabbing the sand with the Staff of Gandalf, a personal gift from the Grey Wizard himself, Mr. Huang immediately declared an absolute monarchy over all of 109, and the Kingdom of 109 was born.  News of the new kingdom spread.  Emissaries from various nations came to greet the new king.  In particular, the king and queen of Octopus Land came bearings gifts including an ancient relic of Pi they discovered in the deepest parts of the ocean.

The Seven Jewels

Moreoever, for Mr. Huang, the return was more than just establishing his own place in this world.  Mr. Williams and other teachers told him of the Seven Jewels of the Sandi, a story Mr. Huang thought was just legend.  As a youth, he thought the seven jewels merely legend, but now he was convinced that they were indeed real.  Longfellow had a responsibility to protect them, and he could help.  Attracted to this profound duty, he accepted the task.  The PTB granted him a heretofore uncivilized land known as 109 to develop for the preservation and protection of the seven jewels, and he gladly accepted it.
