The 109 Offices
The Office of Flagbearer
Flagbearers are elected each quarter for eaceh period. Only flagbearers may carry the 109 flag during fire drills, on the last day of the quarter and for other special events. The king of 109 only carries the flag on the last day of school when he waves goodbye as the buses pull away.
The circular face that dominates the flag is a mod 2, the most beautiful mod. The calm demeanor of the face, shown by the linear eyes and mouth, shows a king who dutifully protects 109 despite the outside forces that continually seek to destroy it. The dragons to either side of the face symbolize longevity and wisdom. The two long objects are the Staff of Gandalf, a gift given to Mr. Huang by Gandalf himself, and a lance representing Longfellow.
